Gothic Parents... Uncut was born in Summer 2001, by several exiled members of another so-called "gothic parent" group. Although that group claimed to be "gothic" they were always quick to hush anyone who spoke about anything controversial about the gothic lifestyle... like drugs and even the music itself. Now how goth is that??
Not only was the topic of conversation limited to advice on poop, but the list was cliquey. If the "senior members" (i.e., the 2-faced untouchables) didn't like something you said, that was a big demerit for you, buddy. Never mind the fact that these so-called seniors would write demeaning insults to us. One senior wrote that she'd make one of us a pink cowboy outfit if she didn't shape up. Another senior wrote someone else saying she should quit making posts 'cause no one reads them anyways. Shit like that.
So we called them on it... and they got pissed.
Several of us started having our posts censored (meanwhile one of the "senior members" was posting stuff on how appalling internet censorship was. yeah... she'd know). The only way we could really check to see if we were being censored (since the list still claimed to be "unmoderated") was to assume different identities and check if their email got through unmoderated... which it did. No big surprise. Well the head cunt who runs the list found out and our little group was excommunicated.
We had wounds to lick and so we banded together and formed our little forum... where we could truly celebrate being a GOTHIC parent.
We've grown since then, taking on fellow victims and sympathizers from the other list as well as untainted individuals seeking a forum to just talk to each other as only gothic parents can, about ANYTHING they want to.
We are real people talking about real issues... but we always have time for sick gothic humour. And of course, we've got our babies! We're a very casual group and really only have just a couple of "rules" but even those are really lax. Our "mission" so to speak is simple... friendship amongst gothic parents.
So that's our story.
